10 Songs to Listen and Enjoy While Reviewing

We all have our own little tips and tricks to help us out when we study. Some of us like rewriting our notes, others study with friends, and some of us—including myself—enjoy listening to music. Did you know that music has 42 main genres? Well, neither did I. Regardless of that, with my general knowledge and a bit of research I've gathered ten song recommendations of those different genres for your study playlist. To those of you who are just like me and love to listen to music while studying, this list is just for you.

1. “You” by Regard, Troye Sivan, and Tate McRae

With its almost electropop-like melody, this song is the perfect mix of casual and upbeat. The song was officially released in April this year and is quite easy to digest alongside its unique instrumental breaks.

2. “Save Your Tears” by The Weeknd ft. Ariana Grande

“Save Your Tears” is a synth-pop song by The Weeknd that features Ariana Grande in its remix version. The instrumentals, vocals, and melody are not overbearing, but the lyrics are catchy and on point. It is overall a great song to bop your head to when studying.

3. “The Feels” by Twice

The first K-pop song on this list is also Twice’s first English single, “The Feels.” From the song’s bubbly lovesick concept to the refreshing melodies and bright vocals, the song gets you energized and ready to study.

4. “STAY” by Kid Laroi ft. Justin Bieber

The song features simple synths and heartfelt lyrics, alongside a steadily fast-paced beat. The melody is easy to follow and the general structure of the song makes it a good song to casually listen to.

5. “my hair” by Ariana Grande

“my hair” is a sidetrack on Ariana Grande’s album “Positions.” It has Ariana’s classic velvety vocals and a mellow beat that is almost jazzy—a perfect addition to your playlist.

6. “Lemonade” by NCT 127

With a tight tempo beat, unique song structure, and defined vocal tones, this song is great to get you pumped up. The vocals have a very textural feel, making it a song that might just stick to your ears at your first listen.

7. “Smokin Out The Window” by Silver Sonic (Bruno Mars & Anderson Paak)

Alongside very comedic story-telling lyrics, the retro-R&B melody of this song is hard not to get hooked on. The vocals and harmonies exchanged between Bruno Mars and Anderson Paak make this a great song to listen to.

8. “Love To Hate Me” by BLACKPINK

“Love to Hate Me” is a B-Track on BLACKPINK’s first full album. The song has a very defined girl boss feel to it with an addictive dark beat, perfect to fuel the scenarios you make up in between reviewing hours.

9. “bandaids” by keshi

If you’re the type of person who listens to softer tunes when studying, this song is perfect for you. With keshi’s quiet tones, simple guitar taps, and heart-wrenching lyrics, this song makes a great soft-tuned ballad.

10. “Trash” by Wheein ft. pH-1 (Mamamoo)

With Wheein’s soft sweet vocals, pH-1’s rap verse contrasts perfectly in the song. The instrumental features a variety of beats and an underlying guitar creating a catchy main melody.

With that, you have all the songs you need to make a perfect playlist to listen to while reviewing. Don’t forget to take breaks in between review sessions, and enjoy the musical tunes. Good luck with your exams, Monarchs!
