SISC High School’s (HS) Talent Night, an eagerly anticipated event, continues to leave a lasting impression on both students and parents. This year's event was no exception, with a meticulously planned schedule and a plethora of talents on display. The carefully orchestrated evening, from its flawless schedule to the abundance of impressive acts, fostered a profound sense of community and solidarity unique to the SISC experience
Transforming the school's Luxembourg Hall into a mesmerizing stage, the event witnessed an array of breathtaking performances, costumes, and an outpouring of artistic expression. The much-anticipated event kicked off promptly at 3 PM on October 19. Adding to the allure of the evening, the event was emceed with enthusiasm and charm by Casa Mikayla and River Ypon, who guided the audience through the vibrant performances with finesse.
Yet, the true stars of the night were the students themselves, with each grade level bringing forth their unique themes and performances with unwavering passion and creativity. The distinguished panel of judges, featuring Nurse Anthony "Renz" Blanco, Ms. Mary Joy Martinez, and Ms. Jan Gutierrez, the school's deputy principal added a layer of expertise to the proceedings, elevating the evening’s overall impact.
Throughout the night, a diverse array of intermission numbers and student-submitted videos added a delightful layer of variety and entertainment, effectively keeping the audience engaged. Moreover, the event also showcased outstanding student performances, including the dynamic 9th-grade duo Cassie Prats and Gabrielle Hermosilla, who performed Taylor Swift's "Paper Rings” and left an indelible mark on the spectators. 7th Grade: A Tribute to "RIO"
The 7th-grade students embarked on a journey inspired by the vibrant and colorful world of the animated film "RIO." Their mass demonstration ignited an enthusiastic response, which made parents and audience members swiftly reach for their phones to capture the moment. The performance was a splendid fusion of dance and dialogue, bringing the tropical charm of Rio de Janeiro to life. Notably, the students’ thoughtful integration of Filipino culture into the birds' geographical stops lent an exclusive and heartfelt dimension to their performance adding a unique and personal touch to their act. 8th Grade: A Magical Night with Disney
The 8th-grade students kicked off their mass demonstration with an enchanting performance that transported the audience into the magical realm of Disney. The segment-themed "Enthusiasm" set the stage aglow, orchestrating a captivating interplay of lights and staging an appealing rendition inspired by the beloved character Rapunzel. Subsequently, the event unfolded into an on-site performance featuring a remix of Disney classics, including tunes from "Mulan," "Moana," "Hercules," "Encanto," and "Aladdin." This delightful medley of songs was a crowd-pleaser, fostering a shared sense of nostalgia and smiles throughout the venue.
9th Grade: A Musical Extravaganza with "Hairspray"
The 9th-grade students wowed the audience with their mass demonstration, a toe-tapping tribute to the hit musical "Hairspray." Their stellar performance was a sensational blend of captivating melodies and exuberant choreography, a testament to their unparalleled production prowess. The students danced the night away, exuding energy and enthusiasm as they brought the spirit of the Broadway show to life. It was a performance that left everyone in the hall applauding with gusto.
10th Grade: A Journey through Dreamworks
The 10th-grade students presented a remarkable mass demonstration that paid homage to the world of Dreamworks. Evoking an aura of intrigue, the students made a striking entrance, shrouded in dark hoods as they swiftly surged through the main doors. The performance was led by the emotive song "True Colors" and was transitioned into a vibrant medley that included "Can't Stop the Feeling" and "Trolls Just Want to Have Fun." Not only did this exuberant display exhibit the students' creativity, but it also highlighted their theatrical prowess, as they brought out fans, guitars, and decorative umbrellas as props, adding an extra layer of magic to their act.

The evening reached its peak with the announcement of awards and winners, marking a jubilant tribute to the students' exceptional achievements in costume design and performance. Moreover, special awards recognized sections that stood out in various categories, such as the Most Meaningful, Entertaining, Creative, and Spectacular Performances.

In the midst of the event, the second intermission number came alive with the dynamic performance of the talented trio of Savannah Castillo, Tabitha Santos, and Sophia Varona. Their electrifying performance featured a rendition of "Bang Bang" by Ariana Grande, Jessie J, and Nicki Minaj left the audience captivated and exhilarated.
As the night drew to a close, Ms. Nessie Lumbres delivered a heartfelt closing remark, emphasizing the importance of embracing one's own character. Her words served as a poignant finale to an evening that exalted the distinctiveness and individuality of each student.
Furthermore, the night was enriched with a splendid intermission number by Pacific Coast of the Vivace Music Club, who serenaded the audience with Taylor Swift's "Enchanted."
