Kindness and Generosity During Disaster

As many of us know, Typhoon Ulysses passed by only last November. Many people were harmed, and some no longer have a home to go to for safety. Fortunately, many of us in SISC were not affected and still have our belongings, our homes, and our families.

Many knew that they had more than enough and decided to share what they have with those who truly need it, and the school hosted a donation drive called Project Ulysses, asking for monetary donations from the people of our community. Many of us in the school’s community contributed and helped our fellow Filipinos. I am sure that many of the typhoon's victims were helped and both sides experienced an opportunity. We got to give and help those in need to make their lives just a little better while those who received have a little more after this devastating typhoon.

I believe that those who this school has helped are truly grateful and we are proud to give and help those in need. From the start of this school year, we have been able to go through all the obstacles that came and tried to bring us down. All the way from the start of the year, we have learned how to adapt and make the most out of what we have here at home, and assist our neighbors whenever they need help. This was our chance to help those in need and give them the opportunity to keep going.

We have established our solidarity during these times and we continue by not only thinking of ourselves but also thinking of those around us. Yes, we still experience multiple obstacles because this time in our lives is far from over but the generosity of our school community not only helps those who are in it but it also helps those who really need it.
