Le Triomphe

I tow my boat of a new beginning

The faces past me kind and forgiving —

The mistakes and hardships that have come to pass

An ephemeral thing of the past

For there is a fleet that sails the seas

Their flag emblazoned with stars in the breeze

Where noble men and women seek to teach

Each child and student regardless of creed

My lonely boat that I had once towed

Had joined this group, timidly so

To find love, and love abounds

Where the guiding hand lay fear unwound

And now I leave on my new journey

Wandering to wherever the sea takes me

But I look one last time towards this fledgling fleet

Tear-laden, and heart concrete

You have given me love, and from love, victory.
