Monarchs celebrate Teachers' Day 2022

On October 4, Grades 10-12 students from both face-to-face and online setups gathered virtually via Zoom for a special assembly to celebrate World Teachers’ Day 2022. The program was organized by the SHS Class Presidents.

To start off the program, a game called 4 Pics, 1 Chika was held, wherein selected faculty members had to guess a word that is connected to the four pictures given and answer specific questions related to their life stories related to those pictures. Monarchs enjoyed watching the teachers have a great time playing the game and sharing their experiences in answering the questions given.

K-12 & IB Principal Dr. Marie Vic Suarez then gave her words of appreciation for the teachers. Her talk revolved around the teachers’ dedication and the efforts they put in for their students. As she emphasized, “It’s just really appropriate to pause for a while and celebrate and recognize our teachers.” The second game, Guess That Teacher, was then introduced. Blurred pictures of teachers were shown for everyone to guess who’s who. The classes enjoyed racing to guess the teacher behind each photo.

After the game, heartfelt video greetings from Grades 10-12 students were shown. Students displayed their gratitude and express their love for the teachers from their respective classes’ videos.

Following this was a raffle wherein the names of the teachers were placed in a digital wheel of names, and through this, they were given an opportunity to win a monetary value as a prize.

The joyful event ended with an inspiring message from the Grades 10-12 Deputy Principal, Ms. January Guiterrez, which was then followed by a photo opportunity to preserve this momentous occasion.

Students and teachers spent time with each other to celebrate Teachers' Day after the special program. Students showed their appreciation for their teachers in a variety of creative ways, including letters, video greetings, gifts, and an open mic near Monarch's Park wherein anyone could dedicate songs to their teachers.

Through the student-led celebration, Monarchs continued to show their gratitude and appreciation for their hardworking and dedicated teachers who aim to make a difference not only during Teachers' Day, but every single day.
