Fastball is an annual school event that takes place during spirit week. It is a time when students and teachers come together to strengthen their bonds through friendly competitions in volleyball, basketball, and football. In this article, we’ll be focusing on the thrilling experiences of two volleyball players—Nathan Dichupa, a member of EL Paso Chihuahuas, and Boris Principe, the team captain of Nestleline.

Nathan’s Inaugural Fastball Experience

Nathan Dichupa of 12-Grit had the opportunity to savor the Fastball experience to the fullest. Playing alongside his classmates and teachers was a fun and memorable experience for him.

He expressed, “For me, participating in Fastball was a unique experience. It's not everyday that you get to play sports with your teachers.”

Nathan played as a middle blocker for the El Paso Chihuahuas. He states that one quality that was key to their team’s success was effective collaboration between their team members.

Nathan emphasized, “We knew we had a goal so we were dedicated to winning. As much as we want to win, we also want to enjoy ourselves.”

Boris’s Reflection After the Final Game

Boris Principe of 11-Efficiency also participated as an open hitter for Nestleline. Leading the team as captain, Boris managed to secure the volleyball this year. He recounts that he felt exhilarated by the win, and describes the final game being “very tough and very close.” For that reason, their victory was all the more satisfying. Their unwavering determination to give it their all was undoubtedly the reason for their accomplishment.

It not only provided an exciting and unique experience, But also served as a welcome relief after the stress of midterms the week prior.
