StuCo Election results: BMOre wins majority


On September 21, 2023, the BMOre Party achieved a sweeping victory by securing ten of the twelve officer positions in the 2023 Luxembourg Campus Student Council Elections.


From September 5 to 19, the candidates actively campaigned, showcasing their positions and proposals, and holding up promotional booths. The other contenders for Student Council were the Unfolding New Opportunities (UNO) Party and Independent candidates Kierkegaard Theodore Victoria for Treasurer and Joshua Levi Santos for Grade 10 Level Representative.


With 57.46% of the votes, Una Bighani Villano was elected as President, while Min Young “Charis” Kim will take on the role of Vice President after accumulating 65.10% of the votes.


Isabela "Sab" Ramona Castillo will serve as Secretary with an impressive 68.19% of the votes, and Sihyun "Sisi" Park garnered 56.84% of the votes, earning her the role of Treasurer.

In the Grade-Level Representatives category, Neil Sheridan Gatchalian Jr., Shakira Catherine Lang, and Juyoung "Ana" Lee, all members of the BMOre Party, were elected as representatives of Grades 7 through 9 with percentages of 54.55%, 60.00%, and 65.44%.


Grade 10 Level Representative hopeful Joshua Levi Santos secured his position with 50.63% of the votes, making him the only independent candidate to win a position in the Student Council.


Also members of the BMOre Party, Jacqueline Ross Jocson with 53.57%, Yoeiza Garcia with 57.38%, and Woo Doreen with 61.54%, prevail as the newly elected respective ABM, HUMSS, and GAS Strand Representatives.


Nathan Dichupa, the only candidate from the opposing UNO Party to secure a seat on the Student Council, won as STEM Strand Representative with 54.69% of the votes.

The voter participation rate reached 88.25% as 811 of the school’s 919 students cast their ballots. The elections’ official results were broadcast through the campus PA system and the SISC Student Council Facebook page.
